The Edinburgh Academy is located in Stockbrige, one of Edinburgh's quietest and most affluent suburbs. The main school building dates back to October 1824 and over the past 200 years the school has grown and adapted to meet the ever changing need of their students.
The school is set in its own grounds which includes a large playground, open grass field, and a 3G football/basketball court situated at the rear of the complex. We take advantage of all of these areas to let students relax with a variety of games and activities.
The Senior School was designed in a Greek style by architect William Burn, and it's importance in the history of Edinburgh is one of the reasons that the city received the nickname The Athens of the North.
Former pupils include multiple Nobel Prize winners and are referred to as Academicals.
